Clinical Sciences related to Sickle Cell Disease

This module will teach the principle of clinical management of Sickle Cell Disease. This module will cover all aspects of Sickle cell disease includig blood transfusion, stroke, acute chest syndrome, pulmonary hypertension, hepatic and renal complications along with sexual dysfunction and pathophysiology and management of pain, acute crisis, Further areas covered include joint pain, leg ulcer , and psycological supports. On completion of this module students should:

1. have a comprehensive understanding of public health implications, diagnosis, management of patients with SCD and its complications.
