Endocrinology

This module will cover growth, puberty, male and female fertility assessment using assisted conception, hormone replacement and contraception.

This module will also familiarise students with the latest scientific and clinical developments in the field of osteoporosis, diabetes, thyroid disorders. This knowledge will enable students for correct diagnosis, management and treatment of all endocrine related problems in haemoglobinopathy.

On completion of this module students will have a comprehensive understanding of the basis of investigation and treatment of endocrine complications in patients with thalassaemia and sickle cell disease and to be able to describe the process of diagnosis and management of disorders.
